Travel

 

Travel within Thailand is reliable and affordable.  There is a good road network and travel by air conditioned bus and rail are viable options.

 

It is anticipated that the majority of international delegates will arrive into Thailand by air. Currently flights arrive into Don Muang airport in Bangkok. The new Bangkok international airport at Suwannapoom is due to open in September 2005.

 

It is recommended that delegates travel to Khon Kaen by air as the service is reliable, convenient and affordable.

 

Thai International fly to and from Khon Kaen 3 times/day.

More recently a local cut price airline has started operating between Bangkok and Khon Kaen twice daily.

All of these flights are heavily used.  It is therefore recommended that delegates make their internal flight reservations as soon as possible.  Bookings for both airlines may be made online.
